Library drop-in sessions and classes

Drop-in sessions

Drop-in sessions, open to all students, are 15 minute sessions where you can discuss an aspect of your studies with a learning skills adviser. We can help you with: academic reading/writing, citing and referencing; exam preparation, note-taking, argumentation skills; preparing for tutorials, and study skills.

Sessions run during weeks 2 - 12, except for semester break, and are held at the following times:
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 12pm to 2pm

No bookings are required for drop-in sessions

Venue: Library Training Room, Library and Learning Commons

Academic Skills workshop

This workshop is led by a Learning Skills Adviser and offers you the opportunity to explore and extend your academic skills on such topics as the essay writing process, academic reading, listening and research skills, critical thinking, tutorial participation, note-taking and referencing amongst others.

The idea is for you to take charge of your learning and bring us questions that directly relate to your academic work. This is a forum style workshop for you to discuss academic learning and research skills with your peers and with an expert.

The workshops will be run once a week over four weeks, from week 2-4. You are welcome at attend as many workshop sessions as you like. Bring a friend!
